Who we are

Taylor Made Services (TMS) is a computer services provider primarily providing database development services, database servers, and some web hosting and email services. Common examples of database solutions include: inventory, invoicing, purchase orders, production tracking, customers, vendors, credit card processing, emailing, shipping, merged documents, labels, envelopes, time and attendance, etc.

We are active in the FileMaker development community and belong to the FileMaker Business Alliance, FileMaker Technical Network, and the local chapter of the FileMaker Users Group (FMPUG).

We specialize in designing reasonably priced secure FileMaker databases for small to medium sized businesses, and making FileMaker Go database front ends on iPads and iPhones. We also support Mac OS X servers including the popular and inexpensive Mac Mini server.

Many of our clients also have need to integrate FileMaker with existing database solutions and we have experience intergating FileMaker with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL databases. FileMaker Go on the iPad and iPhone can also access FileMaker Servers as well as SQL databases! We have a special appreciation for the Mac platform, but equally support both Windows and Mac platforms for FileMaker database development.

TMS Developers

John Larkin is our Marketing and Sales Director. John has extensive customer relations experience for the past 20 years and is knowledgeable in small business operations.

Lawrence Jenkins is a FileMaker developer with a background in the Windows Platform and other database engines. He brings a good balance of Windows knowledge to our database development. Lawrence has a special knowlege of FileMaker calendaring. Additionally, Lawrence is a SalesForce developer. He also focuses on our Fort Worth and mid-cities clients.

D. A. Sharpe is a FileMaker developer primarily focused in the client portion of database development working on reports and user interfaces. He is also knowledgeable in general accounting principles.

James Riley is a FileMaker developer with database experience in the retail and non-profit sectors. His extensive environmental and sports management backgrounds. James primarily works with clients north of 635 in the Dallas Metroplex.

Taylor Sharpe has been developing FileMaker databases since 1986 (FileMaker Plus back then). Taylor has experience setting up FileMaker Servers both on Windows Servers and Mac OS X servers. Additionally, he is knowledgeable in Mac OS X Server configurations for DNS, email, Open Directory and web services. Taylor specializing in complex scripting and relationships. Taylor has experience working in telephony, getting FileMaker to talk to modems and PBXs so that caller ID information flows into FileMaker databases.

Mike Strange (not pictured) has his own company, FireFox Computer Services, but jointly works with TMS on FileMaker projects. Mike knows Windows as well as Macs. He has a background in supporting a DockIt database in Clarion that he has worked with TMS converting it to FileMaker to bring bondsmen into current database technology standards.

Target Audience

We focus on small to mid-sized businesses that have need of a mission critical custom database. Our customers are primarily located in the Dallas, Fort Worth and North Texas areas.

History

TMS has been in business since 1979, is located in Dallas, Texas, and is a proprietorship owned by Taylor Sharpe. Over the years it has performed numerous services primarily in the computer related industry such as desktop publishing, graphics printing, web services, email, and even being an Internet Service Provider for 8 apartment buildings. But the mission has become focused into FileMaker database services and small business servers.
